Junior SDET Project Manager
Overview:
The Junior SDET Project Manager assists in managing test automation projects by supporting resource coordination, timeline tracking, and stakeholder communication. This role is well-suited for individuals with entry-level project management experience who are eager to develop their expertise in software testing and quality assurance. While technical proficiency is not mandatory, the candidate should possess strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of software development project management principles, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with testing teams and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing test automation projects, timelines, and deliverables:
Support one project at a time, collaborating with a small team of developers.
Maintain project schedules and documentation, ensuring milestones and dependencies are met.
Participate in stakeholder meetings, capturing action items and key decisions.
Assist in identifying risks and escalate issues to Intermediate or Senior Project Managers.
Work closely with software engineers to ensure alignment on testing requirements and deliverables.
Coordinate with SDET teams and QA engineers:
Facilitate clear communication of project goals, priorities, and progress.
Track test execution status, defect resolution, and project updates.
Support Agile processes by assisting with Kanban workflows and team meetings.
Monitor project risks and dependencies:
Maintain and update the risk log, tracking mitigation strategies.
Identify and escalate project blockers to ensure timely resolution.
Support communication and reporting:
Assist in drafting project updates and reports for stakeholders.
Track basic project metrics, such as defect rates and test automation coverage.
Contribute to post-mortem analysis, documenting key lessons learned for process improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in project management, ideally within software development or quality assurance (QA).
Exposure to managing small-scale projects or assisting in larger project components.
Understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey project updates clearly.
Strong organizational skills, capable of tracking project details, dependencies, and schedules effectively.
Proven problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have:
Familiarity with test automation processes and tools.
Project management certifications such as CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or CAPM.
Good understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC).
ISTQB Agile Tester (CTFL-AT), ISTQB Test Management (CTFL-TM) for agile testing, project coordination
